Hill City house churches exist to make Christ-like disciples in community for our community.
It’S time for something new
2020 brought unique challenges but also provided a great opportunity to reconsider what our priorities are. Hill City has followed God’s leading in prayerfully launching House Church communities. These sacrificial, intentional communities worked for the Early Church and can work again, providing a flexible and effective model for discipleship. Because we believe in the deep need for discipleship, Hill City’s structure revolves around these meetings, considering House Church to be just as important as our corporate services.
House Church Values:
· Worship - WE WORSHIP Jesus passionately
· Prayer- WE PRAY because it all depends on God
· Study - WE STUDY God’s word to know Him, ourselves & our purpose
· Community - WE ENCOURAGE one another to grow into Christ-likeness
· Discipleship - WE MULTIPLY people living in the way of Jesus
· Generosity - WE GIVE generously to meet the needs of our community
House Church Expectations:
Consistency: Meeting twice a month for the dates given is expected unless illness or emergency prohibits you. We also expect house church members to be consistent with one another in support and sympathy.
Contribution: We expect every member of a house church to contribute in some way. This may include bringing food, leading worship or praying. Every member is also expected to contribute honestly and humbly in discussion so that we can use our gifts and insights to help the whole community to grow.
Commitment: We expect a commitment to growing as a disciple. Whether someone is a new believer or has followed Jesus for years, a commitment to growth (vs. a consumeristic mindset) is necessary. Further, house church members must commit to each other in love, stewarding whatever is shared with care as brothers and sisters in Christ.
